Mangaluru, Dec 22: The year 2025 marks 2025 years since the birth of Jesus Christ, and it will be celebrated as a Jubilee year. Pope Francis will inaugurate this Jubilee year at the Vatican on December 24.
In the Mangalore Diocese, this Jubilee year will be inaugurated on December 29, by the bishop of Mangalore, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha. The inauguration will begin with a prayer service at 7:30 am at the Chapel of St Anne’s Convent in Bolar, Mangalore.
Following the prayer service, a procession will proceed to the Rosario Cathedral Church, where the bishop, along with several clergy members, will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 8 am.
Fr Joseph Martis of the Mangalore diocese has informed that a large number of faithful are expected to participate in this solemn event.
