Mangaluru, Dec 23: MRG Group Chairman Dr K Prakash Shetty announced a significant financial aid initiative of Rs 6 crore for 3,000 underprivileged families and individuals with medical needs under the Asha Prakash Shetty Sahaya Hasta Programme – Neravu. The distribution event will take place on December 25 at Goldfinch City, he revealed during a press conference held on Monday, December 23.

Dr Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, president of Adhamya Chetana Foundation, will grace the occasion as the chief guest, along with Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, and MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty from Kaup. The event will also feature MRG Group administrative director Gaurav P Shetty.

This year, Rs 6 crore will be distributed, benefiting over 15,000 people. A structured criterion has been established to identify beneficiaries through a dedicated committee overseeing a thorough selection process.

During the distribution ceremony, 25 counters will be set up for the beneficiaries. Tokens will be issued, and financial assistance cheques will be handed out. Alongside aid for medical needs, financial support will also be provided for education and sports achievements.

Since the programme's inception in 2019, which began with Rs 1.25 crore in assistance, the amount distributed has steadily increased each year, underlining the initiative’s growing impact.
