Mangaluru, Dec 24: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, celebrated the spirit of Christmas with great fervour at City Centre Mall on December 22, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. The event, aptly themed "Christmas with a Difference," aimed to highlight the deeper meaning of the season through acts of love, hope, and joy.

The celebration began with an introduction to the theme, followed by a warm welcome to the audience. Teacher Reshma extended greetings to the evening’s distinguished guests: S M Arshad, managing director, and S M Sawood, executive director of Mohtisham Complexes Pvt. Ltd. (City Centre Mall). In a gesture of environmental stewardship, vice-principal Sister Teena, on behalf of the school management, presented a flower sapling to the mall representatives.

Administrator Sister Carissima delivered an inspiring Christmas message, emphasising the need to reach out to those in distress. “Millions suffer in silence. Let us bring them solace,” she implored.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating tableau performed by Grade IV students, depicting the Christmas scene. The performance was enhanced by soulful carol singing, which left the audience spellbound. Aiden Lasrado of Grade II B further mesmerised the gathering with his violin renditions of popular Christmas melodies.

Throughout the event, teachers eloquently shared the meaning and essence of Christmas in Kannada, Hindi, and English, ensuring the message resonated across linguistic boundaries.

The enthusiastic crowd, moved by the heartfelt performances, responded with resounding applause. The MCCS family takes immense pride in their efforts to share peace, hope, and joy, believing that their small yet meaningful actions will inspire others to embrace the spirit of giving.

The celebration was a vivid reminder that Christmas is not just about festivities, but about touching lives, spreading love, and fostering unity within the community.
