Mangaluru, Dec 26: Carmel School, CBSE Kotekar, celebrated its annual day – CREACIÓN 2024 on December 9 and 14. The event was a grand display of talent, creativity, and inspiration, attended by distinguished guests, parents, and students.

Celebrations began with a warm welcome for the dignitaries, who were escorted to the stage by the school band. The chief guests for the event included Fr Victor D'Mello, parish priest of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir, and Lion Aruna Shetty, district coordinator for orphans and destitutes and Lions Club Bulletin editor. The guests of honour were K P Mohammad Isack, C A president of J I H Mangaluru, and Ravishankar, vice-president of Someshwara town municipality.

The programme was presided over by Sr Juliana Mary A C, superior of Stella Maris Convent and joint secretary of campus institutions accompanied by Sr Pramila D’Souza, principal, Sr Anitha D’Souza AC, vice-principal, Sr Sheetal AC, headmistress of Stella Maris Kannada Higher Primary School, Sr Fidele, KG coordinator, Geetha Hegde, PTA vice-president, and Sunil, founder of Tre Chiavy Academy.

The programme commenced with a prayer song, invoking blessings and setting a serene tone for the evening. This was followed by the first half of the cultural program, where students showcased their talent through vibrant performances, including dances and musical renditions, reflecting their creativity and enthusiasm.

After the cultural segment, the school report was presented, highlighting the achievements and progress of the institution during the academic year. The report underscored the school's commitment to academic excellence, extracurricular accomplishments, and holistic development.

The stage then witnessed inspirational messages from the dignitaries. Fr Victor D'Mello likened the school to a garden, where teachers nurture students to bloom into beautiful flowers. He emphasised that education should prioritise values, behaviour, and mutual understanding over mere academic success, with parents and teachers working collaboratively for student growth.

K P Mohammad Isack stressed the importance of recognizing societal opportunities and giving back generously. He urged students to express gratitude for their talents and use them to contribute positively to the community. He stressed the value of gratitude, encouraging students to acknowledge the blessings and talents they possess and use them to create meaningful impacts within their communities, fostering a culture of mutual growth and compassion.

Lion Aruna Shetty delivered an uplifting address, highlighting the annual day as an invaluable platform for students to exhibit their diverse talents and creativity. She emphasised that along with academic excellence, discipline plays a vital role in shaping a student’s character. She encouraged active participation in extracurricular activities, explaining that such engagements help nurture skills and confidence, enabling students to grow holistically.

Ravishankar offered a thought-provoking message that emphasised the significance of holistic development in a student's life. He underscored the importance of hard work, perseverance, and dedication in achieving success. He encouraged students to embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, aiming for all-around progress in their personal and academic lives.

Following the guest addresses, the event continued with the second half of the cultural program, which featured additional captivating performances. The evening's vibrant acts resonated with the audience, showcasing the students' dedication and creativity.

The event concluded with heartfelt votes of thanks, delivered by Sr Anitha, vice-principal, and Priyanka, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebrations. The master of ceremonies, Sankirt, Ashlyn, Rayan, Ahana, and Galvin, ensured the program flowed seamlessly.

The annual day celebrations – Creacion 2024 were a remarkable success, leaving an indelible impression on everyone present. The event celebrated the harmonious blend of talent, values, and creativity, making it a memorable experience for all.
