Puttur: Three die in tragic car accident near Parladka junction

Puttur, Dec 28: Three people lost their lives in a tragic accident when a car overturned into a ditch near the bypass road at Parladka Junction.

The victims have been identified as Annu Naik, his son Chidanand, and their neighbor Ramesh Naik, all residents of Jattipalla in Sullia.

The accident occurred near Parladka Junction on the bypass road, drawing a crowd to the spot. Police have arrived at the scene and taking necessary measures.

The incident is believed to have occurred early in the morning.

The accident happened when they were traveling from Sullia to Punacha in Puttur during the early hours. Preliminary investigations suggest the mishap might have occurred due to drowsy driving.

    If it was a sturdy Ambassador car for that matter the impact would've been nullified and loss of lives curtailed. In today's automobile world, fuel efficiency cars having cotton type outer body is the only thing that people look when purchasing a car to save on expensive fuel. Nothing more.

    Government should levy heavy taxes on cars which do not have good crash test values so that they are not being sold much cheaper than the ones with good safety records.
