Mangaluru: 39th 'Expert Day' inaugurated at PU College's Valachil campus

Mangaluru, Dec 29: The 39th "Expert Day" celebration was inaugurated with grandeur at the Valachil campus of the Expert Pre-University College.

The chief guest Mithun H N IPS, superintendent of police for Karnataka Coastal Security Police and Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of institutions jointly set the celebration in motion by unfurling the flags of Kodialbail and Valachil campuses.

Addressing the gathering, Mithun H N, IPS, an alumnus of the college said that the perseverance, hard work and discipline imparted at Expert has made him achieve his dreams. He called on the students to put in their best of their potential as the two years of their hard work is going to lay the foundation to their future. He said, "We can build a beautiful society on the foundation of love and compassion, on the path to the equality."

Prof Narendra L Nayak accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest by presenting a sapling and presided over the programme. Declaring the celebrations open, he extended the greetings of "Expert Day" to all.

Prof Nayak and Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of institutions presented a memento to the chief guest. Balakrishna Shetty, member of academic committee read the citation.

Ankush N Nayak, IT director, Expert Group of institutions, Deepika A Nayak, architect, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, and Subramanya Udupa, vice principal (academic) and programme director were present on the occasion.

A plethora of competitions were organised for the students and senior advocate A Amrith Kini gave away the prizes to the winners.

Student Nehal R Hegde welcomed the dignitaries, hosted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
