Udupi: MIT Kundapura hosts science model competition

Udupi, Dec 30: The prize distribution ceremony of science model competition organized at MIT Kundapura was held recently at the Auditorium of the college by the basic science and humanities department. The competition was held with the aim of fostering innovation and creativity among students while enhancing their understanding of scientific concepts.

Prof Sujatha, HoD of Chemistry, Viveka PU College, Kota, Prof Yashwanthi, Department of Electronics of the Viveka College who judged the competition were present on the occasion. Over 80 innovative models and teams participated in the competition out of which 12 were selected for the finals. Team of Rakshita, Dhanya D Ugrani, Nagarathna M Naik, Preksha S, Uddavva won the first prize with a cash of Rs 5000.

Second place with a cash prize of Rs 3000 was won by the team consisting of Manya M S, Soundarya Das B A, Promodhini P K, Shena J S and Deepa P.

Third Place was won by the team of Bhagyashree Shetty, Harshitha, Dhisha Shetty, Poojari V Shidhar and Akhilesh with a cash prize Rs 2000.

Judges appreciated the commendable efforts done by all the batches of the students and gave valuable feedback.

Head of department Prof Deepak Shetty, addressed the gathering appreciating the students’ efforts and motivation of the faculty members emphasizing the importance of practical learning.

The event was anchored by Trisha Shetty and Likitha. Trisha Shetty proposed a vote of thanks.
