Mangaluru: Title poster of Tulu film 'Pettist' released, shooting to begin in Jan

Mangaluru, Jan 1: The title motion poster of 'Pettist', the third Tulu film by Sandys Company, known for organizing successful events such as the Coastal Film Awards and Yuva Dasara, was unveiled in a grand style. The poster was launched in Mangaluru by MLA Umanath A Kotian and renowned Kannada filmmaker Tarun Sudhir.

Directed by Devi Rai, who has established himself as a talented designer and assistant director in the Kannada film industry, 'Pettist' marks a creative new project for the director. Uday Ballal, an accomplished cinematographer with experience in Kannada, Tulu, and Malayalam cinema, is handling the cinematography.

The film is being produced by a group of enthusiastic investors, including Sandesh Raj Bangera, Suraj Kumar Kalya, Sadananda Poojary, Shashikant Karkera, and Santosh Poojary. The music for the film is composed by Loy Valentine Saldanha.

Casting is currently underway, and shooting is set to commence in January. The production is planned to be completed in a single 35-day schedule, with filming locations including Mangaluru, Vamanjoor, and Bajpe

Devi Rai, who has prior experience as an assistant director for several films, has expressed excitement about this ambitious project. The film, featuring a mix of prominent actors from the Tulu and Kannada industries, aims to blend humour, suspense, and thriller elements into a compelling narrative.

The team plans to release the film in August 2025. According to young producer Sandesh Raj Bangera, 'Pettist' promises to be a unique and ground-breaking addition to the Tulu film industry, offering a fresh and engaging cinematic experience.
