Beltangady: Bus Accident - Youngsters Among 22 Injured

Beltangady, Dec 28: As many as 22 persons including students were injured after the driver of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation lost control over his vehicle and the bus rolled into a roadside gorge. The accident occurred on Tuesday December 27.

The bus was being driven towards Uppinangady through Sauthadka and Nelyady from Patrame, when the accident occurred.

The names of the injured have been given as Sudeesh Kumar, Navin, Ranjan, Pavitra, Vishwanath, Veena, Renuka, Mohammed, Yatishree, Riyaz, Kausar, Shweta, Isubu, Mariamma, Aneesa Banu, Sirajuddin, Lakshmi, Geeta, Prafulla, Mahesh, bus driver, Mohan, and conductor, Jamakhandi Chennappa. Most of the injured were teenagers studying in schools and colleges in the area.

The injured were admitted into hospitals in Ujire and Puttur. A case was registered by the traffic police.
