Udupi, Jan 4: A man allegedly ended his life by hanging himself outside his residence, in Korangrapady, Udupi, on January 3.
The deceased has been identified as Vasanth Kotian (59).
He was living alone and operated a catering business. It is suspected that he ended his life due to mental distress. A note reportedly left behind by the deceased has been recovered by the police.
At the scene of the incident, PSI Puneeth Kumar and investigation assistant Netravathi carried out legal procedures.
Social worker Nityananda Volakadu assisted in transferring the body to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The Udupi town police have registered a case, and investigations are underway.
