Second phase of shooting for Tulu film ‘Jai’ directed by Rupesh Shetty concludes

Mangaluru, Jan 4: The second phase of shooting for the much-anticipated Tulu movie 'Jai', directed by and starring Rock Star Rupesh Shetty, was successfully completed in December 2024. The third phase of filming is scheduled to commence this month.

The big-budget Tulu movie 'Jai' has been shot across various picturesque locations in and around Mangaluru, including Kuthar, Dambel, Marakada, Shoolin Palace Maravoor, Bondel, Panambur, and Baikampady. The film features prominent artistes from the region and promises to be a landmark project for the Tulu film industry.





After the success of his previous hits like Girgit, Gamjaal, and Circus, Rupesh Shetty has embarked on this ambitious project, produced under the banners of RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films, and Mugrodi Productions.

Rupesh Shetty not only directs the movie but also leads its storyline. The story and dialogues have been penned by Prasanna Shetty Bailur. The film’s technical team includes Vinuth K as cinematographer, Loy Valentine Saldanha handling music composition, and Rahul Vasishta in charge of editing. Producers Anil Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty Mugrodi, and Manjunath Attavar are overseeing the production, while Dikshith Alva serves as co-producer. Navin Shetty Aryans has contributed as the choreographer and executive producer.

The ensemble cast includes veteran Tulu actors such as Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Bailur, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, and Umesh Mijar. Adviti Shetty has been cast as the female lead, marking a promising addition to the line-up.

The movie is being filmed in three phases, with the final phase set to wrap up in January. According to Rupesh Shetty, 'Jai' will hit theatres in 2025.
