Mangaluru, Jan 4: A goods tempo caught fire at Nanthoor on Saturday, January 4, but the driver managed to escape unhurt.

Locals who gathered at the scene attempted to extinguish the flames. This marks the eighth such incident since September. Several vehicle fire incidents have been reported in recent months, raising safety concerns.

On September 28, a parked BMW at Adyar was destroyed in a fire, followed by another BMW catching fire near NITK on September 5. On November 10, a Maruti 800 caught fire while waiting in line at a petrol station at Ladyhill and was completely burnt. A similar incident occurred on November 15 when a car was gutted within minutes after a fire broke out near Kadri police station.

Other incidents include a Jeep catching fire at Falnir on November 27, a Hyundai car bursting into flames near City Centre Mall on December 16, and a Volkswagen catching fire at Maryhill on January 2.

Why it is happening only in Mangalore ( as per my knowledge). It could be due to faulty maintenance and poor service quality or it could be due to fitting wrong/ unwanted accessories violating manufacturers recommendations. Now -a-days everything fake .
