Melbourne, Dec 29(Agencies): India is in big trouble after losing two quick wickets VVS Laxman anf Virat Kohli in their victory chase in the first test against Australia. The visitors are now 73 for 5 wickets.
Earlier the India got off to a shaky start when opener Virender Sehwag was removed by paceman Ben Hilfenhaus for 7 shortly before lunch on the fourth day.
Set 292 for victory, a target not bettered at the Melbourne Cricket Ground since South Africa chased down 297 in 1953, India were 17-1 at lunch with opener Gautam Gambhir a nervous 6 not out and no 3 Rahul Dravid on 5. But India lost the batsmen almost immediately after lunch.
The visitors are now banking on a good partnership from Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman,
Hilfenhaus, who took a career-best five-wicket haul in the first innings, tempted Sehwag with a short and wide delivery that the hard-hitting 33-year-old slashed straight into the gully, where Mike Hussey leapt into the air to snaffle it with both hands.
