Second phase of filming of Tulu film 'Pilipanja' completed

Mangaluru, Jan 7: The second phase of shooting for the unique Tulu-Kannada film 'Pilipanja' has been completed in and around Kokkada. The film is produced by young producer Prateek U Poojary under the banner of Shiyan Production House, presented by Yes B Group. Directed by debutant Bharath Shetty, who also penned the story, the film promises an innovative blend of technology and a distinctive storyline.

The filming, which spans a total of 30 days, was divided into two phases. For the first time in the Tulu film industry, 'Pilipanja' introduces advanced and special technologies while maintaining a compelling narrative infused with humour.





Shooting locations included Ira, Moodbidri, Varkadi, Kuttethaje, Boliyar, and Kokkada.

The cast features notable actors such as Ramesh Rai Kukuvalli, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sundar Rai Mandar, Ravi Ramakunja, Shivaprakash Poonja, Prateek U Poojary, Praveen Kodakkal, Ranjan Bolur, Rakshan Madur, Prakash Shetty Dharmanagar, Vijayahari Rai, Dayanand Rai Bettampady, Roopashree Varkadi, Jayasheela Mangaluru, Radhika Bhat, and Bhaskar Manipal. The film also introduces Disha Rani as the lead actress in her debut role in Tulu cinema.

The technical team includes Uday Ballal as the cinematographer, Ramesh Rai Kukuvalli as the executive producer, Loy Valentine Saldanha composing the music, Srinath Pawar handling editing, Akshath Vitla as the associate director, Sajesh Poojary as the assistant director, and Suresh Balmata managing screenplay and dialogues. Karthik Shetty serves as the production manager.

With song sequences yet to be filmed, the production team plans to complete the remaining work soon. The movie is set to release in 2025.
