Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School, Bejai celebrates Community Helpers Day

Mangaluru, Jan 13: ‘Real strength has to do with helping others.’ Lourdes Central School celebrated Community Helpers Day on January 11 to help the children recognize and appreciate the essential roles that different community helpers play in society.

The principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Belita Mascarenhas and KG coordinator Lydia D’Souza graced the occasion.

The chief guests were Dr Anjali Shetty, a dentist by profession, Norah Peres, ancillary staff and Baptist D’Souza, bus driver.

The programme commenced with a prayer song by KG students. Students of kindergarten section (PRE KG, KG 1 and KG 2) dressed up as community helpers and spoke about the duties and responsibilities of their profession.

The students of kindergarten (Pre KG, KG 1 and KG 2 mesmerized the audience with action song and dance depicting the community holders.

Fr principal Johnson L Sequeira interacted with students, introduced the chief guests and felicitated the guests.

Dr Anjali Shetty was thankful for the opportunity given and asked the students to always greet and treat all the community helpers with utmost respect. Norah Peres and Baptist D’Souza were also thankful for the opportunity given.

The event was compered by Jennifer L Menezes.

The event was both fun and hands on learning experience for the students as they learnt about the importance of different community workers and their roles in our society.
