Mangaluru: ‘Kalika Sambrama-2025’ held at St Agnes Special School

Mangaluru, Jan 10: St Agnes Special School (SASS), Bendore, organized a mega exhibition, ‘Kalika Sambrama-2025,’ on January 10. The special children, with the help of their teachers, created unique displays depicting daily life activities, music, art and craft, nature, food habits, and food nutrients. The exhibition won the admiration of all who visited. It showcased a fresh perspective, proving that differently-abled children can surpass expectations in creativity and uniqueness.

The inaugural ceremony began with an invocation by the special children, followed by a welcome address by the principal, Sr Shruthi AC. The program was compered by Narayan Sherigar, a teacher at SASS.

Chief guest Col Gracian Sequeira, after cutting the ribbon, addressed the gathering, saying, “This is a commendable initiative by these special children to showcase their creative talents. It is heartening to see these children, although differently-abled, unleash their creativity with the help of their dedicated teachers and support from their parents. May God bless these special children, their teachers, and their parents.”

As a gesture of appreciation, the students presented a flowering plant to the chief guest, acknowledging his service to various parts of the country.

The chief guest, along with the principal, Sr Shruthi, PTA president Irene Pinto, and others, toured the exhibits, marveling at the children's unique creations. The displays evoked admiration and many exclamations of "Wow!"

A large crowd, including parents, teachers, students from nearby schools, and well-wishers of the institution, visited the exhibition. All had words of appreciation for the management, staff, and students of St Agnes Special School. The creative talents of the special children left everyone in awe.

‘Kalika Sambrama-2025’ was indeed a remarkable initiative by these special children, raising awareness about diversity. May the efforts of the principal, staff, and parents to bring out the best in these differently-abled children continue to inspire and receive support from people of goodwill.
