Moodbidri, Jan 14: Carmel School Moodbidri has proudly acknowledged the exceptional talent of its Grade 4 student Alani Leora D'Souza who has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest artiste to lead Mandd Sobhann’s Monthly Theatre program. The 277th edition of this iconic series was held on January 5 at 6:30 pm in Kalaangann, Mangaluru.
At just nine years old Alani captivated the audience with her soul-stirring performances earning her a place of honor as a rising star in Konkani music. Hailing from Taccode, Alani has already proven her mettle on renowned platforms such as Daijiworld’s ‘Gayan Ani Gazali’ and the celebrated Wilfy Nite.
Under the guidance of the accomplished musician Shilpa Cutinha, Alani is receiving extensive training in classical music and mastering a range of instruments, including the piano, violin, and guitar. Her talent shone brilliantly during the concert directed by the gifted musician Mavish where she performed compositions by some of the most renowned Konkani lyricists and composers.
The event witnessed an extraordinary collaboration with instrumental support from distinguished musicians and vocal harmonies by the Blue Angels Choir creating an enchanting celebration of Konkani music and culture.
The program was graced by Ronald Mendonca the first chairman of Kalaangann as the Chief Guest alongside eminent guests from Mumbai and Dubai. Their presence added to the prestige of this remarkable occasion.
Alani’s extraordinary talent has earned her prestigious accolades including The Noreen Mendonca Memorial Trophy awarded by the Noreen and Ronald Mendonca Foundation, recognizing her as a Konkani Rising Star.
