Mumbai, Jan 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Navi Mumbai on Wednesday, January 15, for a series of high-profile events, including inaugurating the ISKCON temple in Kharghar’s Sector 23. To facilitate safety and manage traffic, Navi Mumbai Police have issued a comprehensive advisory with diversions, road closures, and no-parking zones. Here's what you need to know:
Traffic restrictions and alternative routes
To ensure smooth traffic flow, Navi Mumbai Police have implemented the following measures:
Road closures and Restricted areas
- Both lanes of the road from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J Kumar Circle.
- The road connecting Gurudwara Chowk to J Kumar Circle via BD Somani School.
- The route between gates 1 and 2 of the ISKCON temple.
Note: These areas will be accessible only to VIP vehicles, emergency services, and dignitaries.
Diversions for commuters
- From Prashant Corner to Ove Gaon Police Chowki: Take a right near Prashant Corner.
- From Shilp Chowk to J Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki: Use Green Heritage Chowk.
- From Gramvikas Bhavan via Green Heritage Chowk: Continue to J Kumar Circle via BD Somani School.
- From Central Park Metro Station to J Kumar Circle: Turn right at Gramvikas Bhavan.
- From Ove Gaon Chowk to Gurudwara: Proceed via Gramvikas Bhavan and turn left.
No-Parking zones
To prevent congestion, these areas have been designated as no-parking zones:
- Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Utsav Chowk.
- Ove Gaon Police Chowki to ISKCON Temple Gate 1.
- Gramvikas Bhavan to Green Heritage and Central Park Metro Station.

- Inauguration of ISKCON Temple
PM Modi will officially open the new ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Sector 23, in the presence of dignitaries and devotees.
- Commissioning of Naval Combatants
At Mumbai's Naval Dockyard, PM Modi will commission INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer to bolster India’s maritime capabilities.
