Mumbai, Jan 15: The Ganiga Samaja Mumbai (Regd) conducted its 27th annual general meeting on Sunday at the Shri Vishwesha Teertha Hall, Pejawar Math, Santacruz East. Speaking at the event, President Baikadi Vasudeva Rao (B V Rao) emphasized the importance of unity and selfless service in the community. He highlighted the need to continue fostering traditional values and cultural practices while remaining united through acts of service.
Addressing the gathering, Rao expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support received during his five-year tenure as president. He pledged continued collaboration and extended his assurance of support for the society's endeavours in the future.
Honorary president Kutpadi Ramachandra M Ganiga, senior member and advisor U Balachandra Katpadi, and Ratnakar A Shetty were present and delivered timely and insightful speeches at the event.
Youth wing president Ganesh Kutpadi provided details about Ganiga Samaja Mumbai’s participation in the Tulu Kannadigas' sports event organized by BSKBA (Gokula) on February 8 and 9. He called upon members across all categories to actively participate in the competitions.
Newly elected president Vijayendra Ganiga assured the gathering that, during his tenure, efforts would focus on extending educational assistance and emergency aid to the underprivileged members of the community. He also sought the cooperation of all society members in this noble mission.
The event commenced with senior member Venkatesh Ganiga lighting the ceremonial lamp, followed by a prayer by Anupama Raghavendra. Vice president Gopala Krishna Ganiga (popularly known as 4G) welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Jagadish Ganiga introduced the agenda, and secretary Gangadhar Ganiga offered the vote of thanks.
The event concluded with the national anthem, marking the successful completion of the annual general meeting.
