Mumbai, Jan 2 (IANS): Bajaj Auto Monday reported a 10 percent growth in sales for December 2011, compared to 25 percent in the previous month, sending its shares tumbling.
The company sold 3,05,690 two- and three-wheelers in December 2011, against 2,76,803 units during the like period of the previous financial year, Bajaj Auto said in a regulatory filing.
The company sold 3,74,477 units in November 2011.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company were 7.47 percent down at Rs.1,473.80.
The company clocked 25 percent higher exports for the month under review at 1,19,708 units from 95,388 units in the corresponding month of 2010.
The sales of commercial vehicles grew by 27 percent at 41,991 units as compared to 33,128 units in December 2010.
Motorcycle sales grew 8 percent, registering the sale of 2,63,699 units during the month under review against 2,43,675 units in December of the previous year.
