Mumbai, Jan 18: Vietnamese automaker VinFast has officially entered the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market with the unveiling of its first models, the VF 7 and VF 6 premium SUVs, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Nasdaq-listed company highlighted its commitment to sustainable mobility with these cutting-edge, right-hand drive electric vehicles, tailored specifically for Indian consumers.
The launch is a significant milestone for VinFast as it aims to make a strong debut in the Indian market, one of the fastest-growing EV sectors globally. The VF 7 and VF 6 are designed to offer an advanced driving experience, blending innovation with style and comfort.
Speaking at the unveiling, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said, "Our presence at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 marks a pivotal step in our journey to introduce sustainable and advanced mobility solutions in India. The VF 7 and VF 6 are game changers that will drive EV adoption in the country and set new benchmarks in green transportation."
The two models are slated for sales starting in the second half of 2025. VinFast India’s Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing, Ashwin Ashok Patil, shared that the company is actively building a robust dealership network across major cities in India with an omni-channel approach to reach a wider audience.
The VF 7, embodying the "Asymmetric Aerospace" design philosophy, boasts a bold and robust exterior, a driver-centric interior, and intelligent technologies to ensure a premium driving experience. Meanwhile, the VF 6, inspired by "The Duality in Nature," balances fun and sophistication with human-centric, technological features for an engaging and seamless drive.
Alongside these India-centric models, VinFast also showcased an impressive lineup at the Expo, including the VF 3, VF e34, VF 8, VF 9 SUVs, electric scooters like the Evo 200 and Klara, the Theon electric bike, and the VF Wild pickup truck concept.
VinFast is also ramping up its local manufacturing capabilities. Last year, the company began construction on an EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This facility will bolster VinFast's global supply chain, cater to increasing EV demand, and contribute to India's transition to sustainable mobility solutions.
With its debut in India, VinFast aims to establish itself as a leading player in the EV market, providing innovative, smart, and eco-friendly mobility solutions for a sustainable future.
