US State Dept Yet to Take Down Controversial PoK Map

New Delhi, Jan 4 (PTI): A map of India on the official website of the US State department still shows the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory. In November last year, the ministry of external affairs had criticised the state department for uploading the controversial map.

The US state department had promised the immediate removal of the map, however, in a recent press briefing, the department's spokesperson, Victoria Nuland revealed that the older incorrect version of the map is yet to be replaced.

"We have not yet replaced the maps that we had to take down that were incorrect," Nuland was quoted as saying.

"When we do we'll walk you through the whole thing. One that you're referring to is not a new map on the website," Nuland added.
