Mumbai, Jan 4: ‘Don 2’ has broken the record for top-grossing Bollywood film in North America in just 11 days in theatres for the year 2011. The movie grossed a whopping $3.3 million through January 2.

‘Don 2’ surpassed the $3.1 million of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, a previous record holder starring Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar and also the $2.5 million of SRK’s own ‘Ra.One’. The movie has also grossed more than ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ready’ combined together.

The movie has also set a new standard record for the all-time biggest opening week for a Bollywood movie in North America collecting $2.64 million beating the $2.55 million that Shah Rukh’s ‘My Name is Khan’ earned in its first seven days in February 2010.

Don 2 is the sequel to the hit 2006 Don: The Chase Begins Again. The film is still going strong in theatres and continues to play to large crowds in over 160 theaters across the US and Canada and in fact is till playing to packed houses in India and the world over.
