Mangaluru, Jan 27: Carmel School CBSE Kotekar marked the cultural celebration of Republic Day in the institution with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Sri Nagaraj Anchan, a renowned social activist, and Sr Ashwina, the school coordinator.

The celebration commenced with an invocation of divine blessings through a heartfelt prayer song, setting a solemn and respectful tone. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance performed by students, embodying the spirit of unity and joy.

Thasmai, Mithali, and Adithi extended a warm welcome to the gathering with their well-articulated speech, emphasising the significance of the day.

Siya took the audience through the historical importance of Republic Day, shedding light on the values of justice, liberty, and equality enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

A series of patriotic performances enriched the event, starting with a spectacular soldier’s dance, paying tribute to the courage and dedication of the armed forces. A thought-provoking skit highlighted the essence of Republic Day, narrating its historical journey. Students then performed a patriotic dance, celebrating the indomitable spirit of the nation.

The chief guest, Sri Nagaraj Anchan, delivered an inspiring address, urging students to be responsible citizens. He emphasised waste management and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in homes and surroundings, encouraging the students to embody true leadership qualities.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Amani and Sidra, who expressed gratitude to all participants, guests, and teachers for their contributions to the event's success.

The Republic Day celebration at Carmel School not only honoured the nation’s heritage but also instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in the young minds. It was a day to reflect, learn, and celebrate the democratic values that define our country.
