Kingfisher 1,000 Percent Safe: Mallya

Mumbai, Jan 7 (IANS): United Breweries Group chairman Vijay Mallya Saturday said its Kingfisher Airlines was "one thousand percent safe to fly" and that safety was the airline's top priority.

His assurance comes in the wake of reports that the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was reportedly contemplating cancelling the airline's licence as its financial crisis could have a bearing on safe operations.

"Kingfisher is one thousand percent safe to fly. Safety is our absolute priority. We would never take the slightest chance or compromise," Mallya posted on Twitter.

Taking a dig at the media for the coverage on his beleaguered airline, Mallya said: "Looks like the over supply of Aviation journalists will have to take a pay cut if Kingfisher does not make daily headlines - correct or not!"

His comments come two days after airlines CEO Sanjay Aggarwal claimed that the DGCA had "no concerns with regard to safety" or any significant findings.

Reiterating that safety of passengers was of "paramount importance", Aggarwal also said Kingfisher Airlines had adequate number of pilots and engineers to operate its scheduled services.

"We reassure our valued guests that our scheduled flights will continue to operate with utmost safety in full compliance with regulatory requirements and stipulations in this regard," Aggarwal said.

I am agreat admirer of Mr. Vijay Mallya. He is a shrewed businessman. Everything he touched turned out to be gold. For example few years back MCF was running into loss and Mallya, true to the spirit of a South Kanarite took over the company and turned into a profit making company within couple of years. He has given job opportunities to our fellow Dakshina Kannada youths irrespective of their caste and religion. Aviation industry all over the globe is witnessing a downward trend. Do not write of Kingfisher! It will bounce back. I for one, always preferred Kingfiser over other airlines. The service is superb in all aspects. I wish good luck and every success to Mallya and his young airline.

Mr.Mallya, I agree with you that Kingfisher Airlines is 1000 percent safe airline. You started the airline in such a short time and you are flying international.Air India and Indian Airlines have been in service since a long long time and yet the service is not up to International standard. They have many problems. I wish Kingfisher airlines start service to New York and other cities in US.

This guy is a liar or is not aware of what is happening in his companies. Engineers are boycotting duty and aircraft's are not checked before flights. This is what we've heard from KF staff itself.
Never believe the business people they deceive and lie for their own greed and money.

Kingfisher is 1000 times better than AirIndia Express in all respects. The staff is very cooperative and go out of the way to help the passengers. I had good experience with them. When my family's visa related problem was there, I contacted their staff in Mumbai who in turn guided me to send the papers from Dubai and allowed my family to board the flight. Again, recently when my wife was to travel to mangalore via blore, unfortunately there was delay in the scheduled flight, but the staff at Dubai offered me various options to travel and made alternative arrangements to the best of our convenience. In flight service is superb.I sincerely wish Kingfisher airlines all the best. I strongly believe guests who travelled by Kingfisher have pleasent experiences. My family always likes to fly thro' Kingfisher Airlines. Even myself travel by kingfisher always. In future too we travel by Kingfisher.
