Mumbai (RBI), Jan 30: Shashi R Bandimaar, the dynamic 41-year-old chief editor of Times of Kudla , a leading Tulu-language newspaper, tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday night in Nagaland.

Bandimaar's untimely death has left a void in both the journalistic and Tulu cultural communities. He is survived by his grieving mother, wife, sister, two brothers, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

The loss has sparked an outpouring of grief from prominent figures, including Shivanananda Tagaduru, president of the Karnataka Working Journalists' Association, and Srinivasa Nayak Indaje, president of Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association. Many journalists, along with Rons Bantwal, president of the Kannada Journalists' Association of Maharashtra, have extended their heartfelt condolences.

Known for his relentless efforts to preserve Tulu culture and heritage, Bandimaar ran Times of Kudla for over 15 years, creating a platform for Tulu speakers worldwide. He was also actively involved in the small-scale industry and hospitality sectors. Reports suggest that he had been in Nagaland for his business ventures when a heart attack struck.

Bandimaar's dedication to the Tulu community earned him recognition, with organizations such as Jai Tulu Nad (R) honoring him with prestigious titles, including "Tuluva Nesare." His contributions to the Tulu community and journalism will be remembered for years to come.
