Mangaluru, Feb 2: Mount Carmel Central School, bid a touching farewell to its Grade X and XII students on February 1. Grade IX and XI students hosted the farewell programme in the school auditorium.
The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer service, invoking divine blessings upon the outgoing students. As a symbolic gesture of wisdom and enlightenment, the student representatives from grade X and XII along with the teachers, principal, administrator and the vice principal, lit the lamp and the students held their lamps high as a testament to the knowledge they would carry forward in their lives.
Following this, principal Sr Melissa led the outgoing students in an oath-taking ceremony, where they pledged their love and loyalty to their alma mater. The grade IX students set the tone with a vibrant welcome dance, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Angel Fernandes and Anika Sharma. A heartfelt farewell song was sung to wish the outgoing students success in their future endeavors. A special PowerPoint presentation captured cherished memories, allowing them to reminisce their journey of education at the institution.
On this occasion, ‘Mother Veronica Award of Excellence’ was presented to deserving students of Grade X and XII for the academic year 2024-25. Krislyn Maria Fernandes, grade X and Head Girl Elsha Rose Lewis, grade XII shared their cherished experiences of growing up in the institution and thanked everyone who contributed to their growth. Head boy Harshith Shetty, grade X delivered the vote of thanks. He, along with head girl Elsha Rose Lewis presented a burse to the school as a token of love and gratitude. The event was skillfully emceed by Anbu and Alyssa of grade IX.
In her message, administrator Sr Carissima emphasized that knowledge combined with skills would serve as a valuable asset in their future. Life’s circle is filled with choices and she advised the students to make right choices that would shape their lives for the better. Principal Sr. Melissa reminded the students to remain true to the school motto ‘Higher and Nobler’, urging them to move forward with faith in God and a commitment to excellence. As a parting gesture, the teachers of grade X and XII presented mementos to the students. The event concluded with a fellowship meal, marking the end of a memorable chapter in their academic journey.
