Bhatkla, Jan 8: The first ever district level sports meet for disabled children of Uttar Kannada’s 5 taluks was held here on Sunday January 7.

MLA J D Naik in his inaugural address said that disabled students are talented and they need support, which can help them develop their skills.

TMC president Inyatullah Shahbandari expressed his happiness and said that it is the first time government organized a special sports meet for disabled in Uttara Kannada.

DySP Narayana appreciated students and congratulated their teachers.

A Total of 184 students from Bhatkal, Honnawar, Kumta, Ankola and Karwar participated in the event.

Shot put and Joyling was specially organized for the visually impaired students.

Nagesh Naik PEO, ZP member Jayshree Moger, TP president Parshunath Shetty and others were present on the dais.
