Mangaluru, Feb 3: Carmel School CBSE Kotekar, solemnly observed Peace Day/Martyrs' Day on January 30 with a heartfelt tribute to the nation's brave martyrs. The event was graced by guest speaker Sr Dulcin AC, Sr Pramila D'Souza AC, principal, Sr Anitha D'Souza AC, vice principal and Sr Ashwina AC coordinator.

The programme commenced with masters of ceremony, Nivanshi and Manvik, warmly welcoming the gathering. The lighting of the lamp set the tone for a reflective and reverent ceremony. A soulful prayer song followed, invoking divine blessings, after which the students presented a mesmerizing welcome dance, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm. Inchara delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of Martyrs' Day and the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes.

A key highlight of the event was the dance performance, ‘Maati ke Pukaara', a moving tribute to the martyrs and their families. Rishan’s speech further reinforced the importance of remembering and honoring their sacrifices.

Guest speaker Sister Dulsin delivered an inspiring address, underlining the values of patriotism, sacrifice, and service to the nation. The students then presented a thought-provoking skit on Mahatma Gandhi and his principles, reinforcing the ideals of non-violence, truth, and compassion. As a mark of respect, students offered flowers to Gandhiji's photograph and observed a silent prayer in his memory.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Zubaida Zuha and Vihaan, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, school leaders, and teachers for their support and guidance.

The Martyrs' Day programme at Carmel School was a solemn and inspiring tribute, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by the nation's heroes and the importance of preserving their legacy.
