New Delhi, Jan 9 (IANS): The ineberated son of a realty dealer crashed his car into an autorickshaw here early Sunday, killing the driver, police said. The car driver was arrested.Harshneet Marwah, 24, a resident of Green Park Extention, was returning home from a restaurant Vasant Kunj's Ambiance Mall with two friends when the accident occurred at around 2.30 a.m., police said.
"Harshneet was speeding and driving recklessly when he hit the autorickshaw from behind on the Nelson Mandela Marg," a police officer said. The victim was identified as Lalit Kumar Ojha, 35.
According to police, the autorickshaw was reduced to mangled metal. Ojha was taken to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Harshneet and his friends, Damanjeet Singh and Prayag Raj Prem, escaped unhurt.
The police also found liquor bottles in the car.
"A medical examination confirmed that the trio was drunk, which also proves that Harshneet was driving under the influence of alcohol," said the officer.
