Mangalore, Jan 9: Father Muller College of Nursing and Department of Dermatology organized a first zonal workshop on Dermatological Nursing Care in the Decennial Memorial Hall, Father Muller Medical College here on Januray 7 and 8.

A formal inauguration was started at 11.00 am by prayer song, followed by escorting the dignitaries to the dais by Dr Nandakishore, professor, Department of Dermatology who delivered welcome address.

Prof SDN Gupta, president, IVDAL, was the chief guest who inaugurated workshop by lighting the lamp followed by unfolding of workshop theme by Dr Vineeth Kaur, convenor of the workshop. Later Dr Gupta addressed the gathering by specifying the importance of nursing care in dermatology.

The programme was presided over by Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI, who spoke on the importance of nursing care in dermatology in India and abroad. Other dignitaries on the dais were Fr Denis D’sa, administrator, FMMC and FMCON, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, FMMC, Prema D’Souza, HOD, department of Paediatric Nursing, FMCON. The programme came to end with the vote of thanks by Prema D’Souza followed by institutional anthem.

Then scientific sessions were handled by Dr Vineeth Kaur, Barbara Page and Prof Gurumohan Singh. The workshop was benefitted by undergraduates and postgraduates and the faculty of medicine, nursing and allied health sciences.
