G M Global School Brahmavar holds farewell ceremony for grade 10 students

Brahmavar, Feb 5: The farewell ceremony for the grade 10 students of G M Global School, Brahmavar was held in the school auditorium on February 3.

The event was organised by the staff to bid farewell to the first batch at G M Global School. It was an emotional and joyous occasion, celebrating the achievements and memories of the outgoing batch.

The programme commenced with a vibrant welcome dance by the grade 8 and 9 students. It was followed by lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries and chief guest.

The title for the farewell programme - UDAAN - a farewell for grade X students was unveiled by the chief guest and the dignitaries. The logo represents the first flight of the bird soaring towards a new horizon.

The principal of GMVPS guided and motivated the students.

The principal of the school Pranav Shetty encouraged and wished the students all the best for their future and wished them for their board exams. The principal acknowledged the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the students and encouraged them to pursue their dreams with confidence.

Head boy Danish Gowda shared his thoughts on the occasion. Rohit L N shared about his experience at G M Global School and the hostel life.

The chief guest, Associate Professor Joselyn Lobo, shared his experiences and guided the students regarding choosing their career of their choice. He also encouraged the students to develop their soft skills and face the challenges in the next phase of their life.

The chairman, Prakashchandra Shetty, advised students to prepare for their upcoming board exams and to obey their parents and elders. He also encouraged the students to excel in their academics and come out with flying colours.

Principal read the scroll and wished the students for a bright future

The class teachers Nirmith and Chaitra shared their experiences and words of wisdom, offering guidance for the future.

The year book ‘PRERNA – 2025’ , a grand collection of articles, poems and artwork of students and ‘The Global Times 2025’ for the year 2024-2025 highlighting the activities of the school and showcasing students' talents, were released on the occasion.

The third book ‘IMPRESSIONS’, the grand collection of the expressions and feelings of grade 10 students, exclusively designed for the grade 10 outgoing batch 2024-25 was released Their journey is inscribed in the IMPRESSIONS- a Treasure Trove of Memories. All the three books were released by the chief guest and the dignitaries.

The event continued with student acknowledgement and the students were honoured with mementos as a token of love and remembrance. The students were presented with diyas - the light, so that they can be light to the world, a scroll and a photograph was presented to all the students.

One of the most awaited segments of the event was the “Title Awards,” where students were given fun and meaningful titles based on their unique qualities. Additionally, a video montage featuring nostalgic moments from the past years was played, evoking emotions and fond memories.

The outgoing students expressed their gratitude through speeches, sharing their journey, experiences, and appreciation for their teachers and peers. Some students also shared their aspirations and future plans.

The students of Grade 9 presented an entertaining cultural programme, which included dance performances, musical acts, games and a short skit highlighting the memorable moments of the departing batch.

The programme was hosted by Chaitra, the class teacher of Grade 10. The welcome speech was delivered by Sahana, followed by a heartfelt address from the Head Girl Shreya Shetty.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Priya Lopez, followed by a group photo session. The farewell ended on a positive note with laughter, tears, and best wishes for the future. As the students embark on a new journey, they carry with them the lessons, friendships, and cherished memories from their time at G M Global School.

The host Avelyn D’silva concluded with the quote - "The road ahead is unknown, but the memories we’ve shared will be our compass. Farewells are not the end, but the beginning of new adventures, and every step forward is a step toward becoming who we are meant to be."

The event was presided over by retired associate professor Joselyn T Lobo, along with the honourable chairman PrakashChandra Shetty, trustee of the school, Tara Prakashchandra Shetty, principal of GMVPS George Kurian, principal of G M Global School, Pranav Shetty, along with the head boy Danish Gowda and head girl Shreya Shetty graced the occasion.
