Mumbai, Feb 8: Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley has emerged as the frontrunner to be elected as the next joint secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The position has remained vacant since Devajit Saikia’s promotion to secretary following Jay Shah’s election as ICC chairman in December 2024. The BCCI has scheduled a Special General Meeting (SGM) on March 1 in Mumbai to elect the new joint secretary.
While other contenders, including former Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Abhishek Dalmiya and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official Sanjay Naik, are in the fray, Jaitley is seen as the strongest candidate.
His appointment would further cement his growing influence in Indian cricket administration. If elected, Jaitley will play a key role in shaping board policies, especially ahead of major international tournaments and domestic cricket reforms.
