Mangaluru: MAA founder Er Jerardin D'Souza honoured by Lions International

Mangaluru, Feb 9: Jerardin D'Souza, founder of MAA Mangalore Alzheimers Association was honoured for his passionate service & awareness campaign for Alzheimers Dementia and Elders Care by The Lions International, Dist 317D, region 1, at Bejai Church Hall during the Regional Conference of Lion Gurupreeth Alva.

PDG Arun Shetty, host committee chairman choreographed the whole show.

Chief guest Dr Thimmappa Hegde, renowned neuro surgeon, Narayana Hridalaya, appreciated regional chairman Gurupreeth Alva and Ln Nishitha Alva for their humane service.

Dr Thimmappa Hegde delivered a brilliant talk focussing on happiness and the route towards a happy life. "Being grateful leads to happiness. Live in the moment. Not in the past or future," was his directive.

"I have never seen these many Lions governors assembled at one programme. It’s a stellar assembly," said Dr Shantaram Shetty, who himself is a past governor.

Region chairman Gurpreeth Alva delivered a lively address enlisting various services rendered.

Various people were honoured and cultural programmes were a part of this mega show which brought the whole Lions family under one roof.
