Mangaluru, Feb 9: The First Vardhyanthotsava (annual celebration) of Lord Sri Srinivasa will be held with great devotion and grandeur on February 10 at the Srinivasa Temple, Vaikuntha, located in the Srinivas University Valachil Campus. The event will feature a series of Vedic rituals and cultural programs.
The day will commence at 7 am with Bhajans, followed by Punyahavachana, Gana Homa, Vishnu Sahasranama Homa, and Pavamana Homa at 9 am. From 10 am to 12 noon, collective chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama will take place, leading to the Prasanna Puja, Prasada distribution, and Anna Santharpana at 12 noon. The afternoon session from 2 pm to 5 pm will feature Bhajans and cultural performances by students, and in the evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, a Yakshagana performance – ‘Srinivasa Kalyana’ will be presented by the students and staff of Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Institutions..

The event will be graced by Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University), Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee member, and Prof Er A Mithra S Rao, trustee member, along with other distinguished dignitaries.
About the temple:
The Srinivasa Temple at Vaikuntha, Valachil Campus, was consecrated on February 22, 2024 under the visionary leadership of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University. The divine idol of Lord Sri Srinivasa was brought from Tirumala Tirupati, symbolizing a historic moment for the campus. Dr Rao emphasizes that Lord Srinivasa is a universal deity, not confined to any particular community but a divine presence that purifies and enriches the environment.
