Congress not to leave Bengal government: Pradip

Kolkata, Jan 10 (IANS) Three days after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she was ready to 'go alone" in the state, the Congress Tuesday said it will not leave the government until the people want.

"People of Bengal had wanted that we (Congress and Trinamool) fight together ... and (form) the cabinet. We are doing that," state Congress president Pradip Bhattacharjee said.

"Thus, so long the people do not want, we will not leave," Bhattacharjee said.

A tussle between the Trianamool and the Congress in West Bengal started after the state government decided to rename Indira Bhawan, which briefly served as the residence of late prime minister Indira Gandhi.
