Kundapur: Sheena Poojary joins BJP after long association with Congress

Kundapur, Feb 10: The elections for the Basrur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society were highly anticipated, but the results remained balanced. Despite serving as a director for nearly 11 terms, Sheena Poojary was not given due recognition by the Congress party. Taking a decisive step, he has now joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sheena Poojary, who has been dedicated to public service, enjoys a strong reputation, said MLA A Kiran Kumar Kodgi.

He was speaking at the official induction ceremony of Sheena Poojary into the BJP at the Kundapur BJP Mandal office. The MLA and mandal president welcomed Sheena Poojary into the party by handing over the BJP flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheena Poojary said, "I have served as a director for 11 terms and have also worked as a gram panchayat member. However, the Congress party did not provide me with the right opportunities. I needed a suitable platform to continue working for the people."

Mandal president Suresh Shetty Gopadi presided over the program. On this occasion, Sheena Poojary, who was recently elected as the president of Basrur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society, and vice president Sanjeev Poojary were felicitated.

BJP district general secretary Sadananda Balkur, district vice president Kadur Suresh Shetty, municipal council president Mohanadas Shenai, vice president Vanita S Billava, and mandal general secretary Sudheer K S were present.

Mandal general secretary Satish Poojary Vakvadi coordinated the event.
