Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 12: Dakshina Kannada district Congress Committee has expressed resentment at the failure of Youth Festival organizers in not publishing the pictures of Prime Minister and union minister for sports and youth affairs in the advertisements and publicity materials released concerning Youth Festival being held in the city from Thursday January 11 onwards.

Reportedly, former district president of district youth Congress, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, contacted the union ministry of youth affairs and drew the attention of the ministry officials towards the neglect shown to the Prime Minister as well as youth affairs and sports minister by the Youth Festival organizers. The union ministry is said to have plunged into action immediately by contacting the officials concerned and issuing to them necessary instructions.

A Congress delegation later met the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district and drew his attention to this anomaly. The deputy commissioner responded to the demand of the delegation and promised to take corrective steps.

The delegation had MLA, U T Khader, former MLA, Vijayakumar Shetty, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee member, Suresh Ballal, Mangalore block Congress president, Ashraf, youth Congress president, Mithun Rai, Pravin Alva, Sudhir T K, Vinayaraj, Dennis D’Silva, former mayor, Shashidhar Hegde, and others as its members.

    Ajit, Mangalore, can you explain what is wrong if Bondala shetty intervened and asked the DC to publish the Pm's picture at the youth festival. The Youth festival is marking the birthday of swami Vivekananda on 12 January as it began since 1995. This national integration event in Mangala Stadium shows every where smiling pictures of the CM DVS and but there is not a single picture from the Central government of India. The DC is responsible for this failure of not publishing any picture of the youth leaders from Union Government and the prime minister.

    @Roland
    Whatever you said may be your personal views.Your comment shows that you are lacking about local leaders.Sri Shashidhar Hegde,present Congress corporator and past Mayor have done lot of good thing for the city and still he is an active corporator who takes part keen interest in matters connected with common man.

    This Mithun Rai will definitely join the BJP in a few years. He just wanted a launchpad to enter politics.
    There is a lot of competition in BJP, but Congress is a sinking ship in Karnataka,nobodys bothered about whats happening around and its quite easy to get an entry into it.

    @Roland, Dont give unwanted comments unless your aware of other party leaders contributions. Mithun Rai, Praveen Alva & Suresh Ballal have done a lot from their part. If only people like you would co-operate would it be useful.
