Udupi, Feb 14: Sweezal Furtado, the 19-year-old dynamo from Coastal Karnataka (Bengaluru), is ready to make history as India’s representative at the Miss Global 2024 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 5 to 9. Crowned Miss Global India 2024 at Jaipur’s Clarks Amer on July 28, 2024, Sweezal carries not just the hopes of her hometown but the aspirations of a nation eager to see her triumph on the global stage.
Sweezal’s journey to Miss Global is paved with relentless dedication and accolades. Her pageant career skyrocketed after winning "Fresh Face of Ignite India 2021" and securing second runner-up at Miss Supermodel India 2022. In 2023, she dazzled internationally, clinching "Teen Universal 2023" and "International Princess" at the Miss Teen International Pageant in Peru, alongside titles like "Miss Teen Universal Asia" and "Best National Costume".
Her recent sweep at the Miss Super Model India event, where she claimed "Miss Best Ramp Walk 2024", "Miss Best in Evening Gown 2024", and "Miss Popular 2024", proves her mastery of poise, style, and charisma.
Sweezal’s talents transcend the runway. A gifted dancer, her viral performance to Nach Meri Rani earned praise from singer Guru Randhawa. Her eloquence shines through poetry, having reached the national level in the Kavita Trust Poetry Recitation competition.
Balancing a third-year BBA in Entrepreneurship at Bengaluru's St Joseph’s College of Commerce, she embodies the modern blend of intellect and artistry.
