Moodbidri, Feb 16: The 23rd edition of "The Hindu Young World Quiz" witnessed an intense battle of intellect as 176 teams from across the region competed for the top honours. Hosted at Lourdes Central School the prestigious event was presented by the State Bank of India with UNIBIC as the snacks partner and Naturo as the treat time partner.

In the senior category (classes 7 to 9) Carmel School Moodbidri made a mark with their stellar performance. Cleon Tauro and Rahul Jenson Pinto, both students of class 7, displayed remarkable knowledge and quick thinking to emerge as runners-up in the finals competing against the best young quizzers in the region.

The event saw a low-scoring yet fiercely competitive preliminary round from which only six teams advanced to the finals.
