Sullia, Feb 17: Public works minister Satish Jarkiholi stated that the issue of road damage caused by drinking water pipeline projects is prevalent across the state. He assured that discussions would be held at the government level to address the problem and take necessary action.
Speaking to reporters in Sullia, the minister responded to concerns about roads under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD), zilla panchayat, and local authorities being affected by pipeline projects. He mentioned that the issue would be discussed in an upcoming departmental meeting in Mangaluru.

Regarding the bypass road for Sullia town, he said the government's decision on the matter would be reviewed, and local demands would be considered. Additionally, he assured that the development of local roads connecting Sullia to Madikeri and Kerala would be prioritized after a thorough assessment.
MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, Congress Sullia block president Radhakrishna Bolluru, and Arebhashe Academy president Sadananda Mawji, among others, welcomed the minister.
Later, Jarkiholi personally inspected the Aranthodu-Elimale road up to Adthale. This road, connecting Mani-Mysuru Highway to Madikeri, Mysuru, and Kukke Subrahmanya, serves as a crucial route for travellers. Local representatives and residents urged the minister to ensure the complete development of the road. In response, he assured them that necessary funds would be allocated for the project.
