Kumta: Konkani Sahitya Academy Seminar on B Ed, D Ed Syllabus from Jan 16

Kumta, Jan 13: Under the aegis of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and public instructions department, a second seminar will be held at the Kamala Baliga Education Institution auditorium, from Monday January 16 to Wednesday January 18, to develop syllabi for teaching Konkani in D Ed and B Ed courses.

Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty will inaugurate the programme. Konkani Sahitya Academy president Kasargod Chinna will preside.

Karnataka Cashew Development Board chairman Vinod Prabhu, DIET principal S T Vaidya, Canara College Society ® deputy chairman A P Shanbagh, Kumta Konkani Parishat chairman Arun S Ubayakar, retired principal R N Shet, Karwar Rotary district vice governor M B Pai, local Kharvi community leader Suresh Karvi, Kumta Bhandary Samojonnati Sangh chairman Sridar R Bhirkody, Kumta district BJP Minority Morcha president Tony D’Souza, and Navayat community leader Usman Shah Bandri will be the chief guests on the occasion.

After the inaugural programme, a seminar on objectives of teaching mother tongue Konkani, significance and teaching principles, and language resources, will be held on Monday.

The seminar on methods of developing language skills, eligibilities, and qualities of Konkani teacher, will be held on Tuesday January 17.

A seminar on Konkani classes – different perspective, review of text books, evaluation of language – originality and methods, will be held on Wednesday January 18.

The Academy urged members of the Konkani community to attend the programme.
