Kasargod: Two Die in Bus-Jeep Accident

Kasargod, Jan 13: Two youth died, and three persons including two policemen suffered injuries, after a jeep got involved in a collision with a bus at Karindalam near Hosdurg in the district on Wednesday January 11 afternoon.

Saju Kumar (28), son of K Venu from Nileshwar Karindalam Andol, and Avidath Vasantan (30), resident of Kavumbayi Colony, who worked as salesman in Samudra Bar in Srikantapura, lost their lives in the tragedy. Saju Kumar was driving the ill-fated jeep, it is learnt. A bar employee named Prashant (27), who suffered critical injuries, was admitted into Periyaram Medical College Hospital for treatment.

All the three persons were returning in a jeep after attending the hearing of a case in a court in Taliparmba.

After the bus hit the jeep, the driver lost control over the jeep, and the vehicle hit a police jeep that was moving by. Vijayan (43) from Mavoor, and Santosh (45)k from Karantoor, senior officers in police control room at Kallukore who were travelling in the jeep, suffered injuries. They too were admitted into hospital.
