Panaji, Feb 19: The Goa Cabinet has decided to impose a ban on Rottweiler and Pitbull dogs within the state, with Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announcing that amendments will be made to the existing ordinance to enforce this decision.

Addressing the media following a cabinet meeting, CM Sawant explained that the new policy will prohibit the import of these dog breeds into Goa. However, individuals who currently own Rottweilers and Pitbulls will be required to register their pets with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department.

Additionally, owners will bear full responsibility for ensuring their dogs do not pose a threat to public safety.
