Uttar Pradesh, Feb 20: A disturbing incident at 12th Avenue Society in Gaur City-2, Greater Noida has triggered massive outrage after CCTV footage of a woman assaulting a young child inside a lift went viral on social media. The shocking video has led to widespread protests by local residents, ultimately prompting the police to take swift action and arrest the accused late at night.

The CCTV footage, which surfaced online, captures the woman entering the lift with her pet dog. Moments later, she is seen forcefully dragging and physically assaulting the terrified child in the confined space. The child appears visibly distressed and helpless as the woman continues her attack.

Adding to the controversy, the woman’s pet dog was in the lift without a muzzle, violating the housing society’s pet policy. Residents have previously raised concerns about pet safety regulations, and this latest violation has further fueled tensions within the society.

As the video spread across social media, residents erupted in protest, demanding immediate action against the accused. The situation escalated as locals accused the authorities of delayed response. By midnight, large crowds gathered in the society premises, forcing the police to intervene.

Following intense pressure, law enforcement officials took the woman into custody and registered an FIR at Bisrakh Police Station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed the arrest, stating, “A case has been registered, and strict action will be taken against the accused. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the incident.”

The shocking episode has reignited concerns over security in residential societies, with residents now demanding stricter enforcement of society rules to prevent such incidents in the future.

Greater Noida and Noida have witnessed several pet-related disputes in gated communities in recent times. Many cases have involved pet owners clashing with other residents, while some have even seen individuals assaulting neighbors over feeding stray dogs, often in violation of court guidelines.

This latest incident has once again put the spotlight on the need for strict safety measures and legal enforcement in high-rise societies, ensuring the well-being of both residents and their pets.
