Kolkata, Feb 21: The shocking case of three women from the same family found murdered, while three other members were injured in a car accident in Kolkata, has left police puzzled. Investigators are now probing the possible involvement of the victims' husbands in the crime.

On Wednesday, the bodies of Sudeshna Dey, Romi Dey, and Prasun Dey’s daughter were discovered inside their home in the Tangra area, their wrists slit. Meanwhile, Pranay Dey, Prasun Dey, and Pranay’s son met with an accident around 3:15 am near Abhisikta Metro. One of the injured men later informed the police about the deaths at their residence.

While the brothers initially claimed a suicide pact, police dismissed this theory after the post-mortem confirmed murder. Investigators suspect the men may have misled authorities and are awaiting their recovery to question them further.

The family, known for their tannery business, was reportedly facing financial troubles. Police are now investigating whether the murders were committed by the husbands or external individuals.

Authorities confirmed that the car had no mechanical issues, raising further suspicions about the accident. The brothers, currently in the ICU, are expected to be questioned once their health improves.

With multiple unanswered questions, police are intensifying their probe into this bizarre and chilling case.
