St Aloysius hosts event on empowering sustainable menstrual care at Besant Girls School

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The department of Post Graduate Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, organized an event focused on ‘Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care’ on February 24. The event took place at Besant Girls National High School, Kodialbail, Mangaluru.

The event featured Shilpa Shastry as the resource person, who spoke on various topics related to sustainable menstrual care, including eco-friendly menstrual products, proper disposal methods, and breaking the stigma around menstruation. The event was attended by 6th to 9th standard students.

Kripa, second-year MA Journalism and Mass Communication student compered the event. Neha, welcomed the gathering.

Tapasvi Vachhani proposed a vote of thanks.

Tapasvi Vachhani and Neha, students of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, coordinated the event under the guidance of Bhavya Shetty, head of department, Journalism and mass communication. This initiative not only educated attendees about sustainable menstrual care but also impacted on breaking stereotypes in the society.
