Black Ink Thrown at Baba Ramdev's Face

New Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS): A man Saturday threw black ink on the face of yoga guru Baba Ramdev as he was holding a press conference at the Constitutional Club here.

The man was caught by Ramdev's supporters and roughed up.

Ramdev said that such attempts will not deter him from going ahead with his campaign.

"I will continue our fight against corruption and black money. These attempts will not affect me. I got black ink for asking to bring black money back. My life is devoted to wellness of the people. The blank ink doesn't affect me," he said.

Congress spokesperson condemned the attack and said the Government was traying to tackle the black money menace.

    To those who maintain that BJP supports Anna, believe it or not, no politician (including Congress) likes Anna or his Lokpal. Because, if a politician has to go by what Anna demands, he better give up politics and do 'Khetiwadi' because every politician wants to make money within the period that he is in power. Even granting a loan to a farmer under a Rural development scheme have different figure issued and mentioned on the paper. The farmer quietly goes away with what he got because he is threatened to keep quiet or warned that whatever granted now too will be disqualified. So, all the support that these politicians publicly expressed is just for namesake.

    Anna has given us a break now, we must take it on. Let us not vote a party that distributes goodies and money against our vote. Let us report each and every bribe demand and delay in processing our document to existing Lokyukta authorities. Let us receive a challan against an offence than getting away with it by paying Rs. 50/- to the lower police. Hereafter, its we who is making or breaking corruption !

    Are we ready for it ?

    Good analysis by Lydia. Mr Dinesh, if BJP is whole heartedly supporting the Lokpal bill, can you explain why Modi in Gujrat and Mamata in West Bengal are opposing the appointment of Lokyukta in their states.

    Dear Lydia,i dont agree. my suggestion is to know/analyze issue from all angles.
    Here in India, whenever somebody rises voice against congress they r termed as RSS/BJP agents. We shud know how our central govt. is cheating everyone including minorities just for the sake of votes. Lets forget that one,, now come to ur arguments
    1.u have accused of Anna stepping back after lok pall bill rejected in RS where congress doesnt have majority.     3. Religious fundamentalism is next big thing here. Every religious leaders look for oppotunities to expand their business. Why church and madrasas excluded in our secular India? Have any one raised voice against money being funded to missionaries ?,If any one does he'll be seen as RSS agent. Many of the north eastern states suffering from religious extremism. (please google u 'll get many eaxmples).
    In my own district,this year annual schoolday celebrations were called off because of fatwa issued by local Imam.surprised?? Wat do we do for this?? I got really frustrted with this..R we living in Muslim country??

    This happens only in India. British left India after looting our country. But their kids n kins are still there, they still speak n write in English instead of their local language. Right Dinesh? Lots of britishers are coming to Kollur Temple did they looted anything from there?why your people are welcoming them? Dinesh is too is from Kundapur. Do you have any comments against them. Are they all your ancestors? Control your tongue else we too know how to answer you.

    Dear akka Lydia,

    Don't create your own story for the sake of commenting against someone. I know you are a good narrator. But don't mislead the readers here.

    If Anna's fight was against Congress, then he would not have got the whopping support across the country. You must not forget that people have supported and will support Anna irrespective of political party. BJP supported Anna, but it doesn't mean that Anna is in hands of BJP/RSS.

    Also note that Lokpall Bill is for everyone, not only for congress party. Tomorrow if BJP rules, it applies for them too.

    A 70 year old man is fighting against corruption for the future India. Don't speak nonsense about Anna, have some common sense! It is for the benefit of youths like us and for our future generation!

    Baba ramdev whenever try to be in limelight he failed most of it.Sometime he is aganist some politicians and sometime about corruption and sometime about black money,nothing worked good to him only the black ink to his face.

    Anna Hazarey was every Indian's darling when he started an apolitical revolution against corruption. When Kiran Bedi and Kejriwal joined Anna, the movement became personal rivalry of these two legends to take revenge against what they faced during their service time. They modified Anna's movement into a movement targeting Congress. It transformed as sour grapes when the Lokpal bill, though weak, was enacted and eventually not supported in the Rajya Sabha where Congress had no majority. BJP that was all 'FOR' Anna, showed their real colour here.

    That is when Anna and team realized their mistake and backed off from going to the states where elections are expected - Anna's health is a lame excuse.

    Baba Ramdev took advantage of the situation and feigned to be joining the movement but the farce in Ramleela Maidan opened a can of worms. Public who worshiped him as a Sadhu got to know he is not a renouncer but a multimillionaire.

    You and I are both citizens of this democratic country. We can have our own favourites - you have no right to criticize me over liking what you don't - the rule applies to me too. I don't support corruption but no party is a saint or corruptionless. I would rather go with a secular party that is open to all religions than a one-way-traffic saffron brigade !

    Bear me if you can or do what you want - because congress party is not made of just 20 ??? minority !

    If your humanitarians can hoist Pakistani Flag in Sindhagi, why not blank ink smearing on Baba Ramdev too ?

    May be many more are getting aware of the hypocrisy of Baba who owns an island abroad, has export business of Indian herbal medicines, etc. ? Does he get the currency paid in Indian Rupees or US$. ?

    People are not 'Hebbetu-Chaap' today - they read news. They have read how the Baba tried to escape in women's clothing from Ramleela Maidan !

    How come you drag Congress only for bad incidents - you never remember them to dedicate good BJP did ?
