Mumbai, Feb 27: With a resilient economy, a vast consumer base, and pro-business policies, India is emerging as a prime global investment destination, said Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal at the ‘Bharat Calling Conference 2025’ organized by IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking on the theme Path to Viksit Bharat 2047: Pioneering Prosperity for All, Goyal emphasized India’s commitment to manufacturing, skill development, and innovation, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He credited initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat for strengthening India’s self-sufficiency and positioning it as a key player in global trade.

Outlining five enablers for Viksit Bharat@2047, he stressed the importance of quality management, sustainability, inclusive growth, skill development, and competitiveness. He urged businesses to embrace global quality standards, assist small enterprises, and integrate sustainability into operations.
Highlighting the role of skill-building in economic growth, Goyal announced two new skill development centers in North Mumbai, following the success of a state-of-the-art facility in Kandivali. He also called on businesses to focus on efficiency and global competitiveness rather than government subsidies.
Dignitaries present included Queensland’s Finance Minister Rosslyn Bates and IMC President Sanjaya Mariwala, among others.
