Mangaluru, Feb 28: The AICTE Idea Lab at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), in collaboration with the department of physics and electrical & electronics engineering, celebrated National Science Day 2025 at the Kalam Auditorium on Friday, February 28.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Triveni, senior lecturer at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), emphasized, "Today, we are overtaken by AI and technology, but we must remember that life is precious. They have put in a lot of effort into their science projects and have maintained a scientific temper."

Principal Dr Rio D’Souza encouraged students to ask questions and seek answers that could lead to new discoveries.

In his presidential address, director Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza remarked, "National Science Day holds great significance, as it celebrates global discoveries. Science is all about exploring and questioning to understand the world around us. Cultivating curiosity leads to new discoveries. We must ignite curiosity, question the unknown, and contribute to the scientific community."

As part of the celebrations, students from 20 schools participated in a science exhibition organized in honour of National Science Day.

Dr Shruthi Acharya also delivered the keynote address during the event.
